What do most of the good diets have in common?
What traits do successful dieters share?
Ponder for a while about these questions. If you get yourself the right answer, you have the blueprint of your one size fits all nutrition. But to save your gray matter, and help you reach the right spot without wasting time, here’s the elaborated answer.
Most of the good diets make you shun the obvious junk, like unhealthy snacks, treats, and sugars. It’s the stuff you obviously know is bad but keep eating unless a diet forces you to get rid of it. What this ditching of junk does is that it improves the overall quality of your food intake. When you stop eating bad things, you automatically start eating healthy things.
Another thing those good diets make you well versed in is food awareness. A good diet plan makes you attentive about what you’re putting in your mouth by restricting your choices and/or portion control. When you are mindful of what you are eating, you instinctually start focusing on nutrition and avoid overeating.
The Not So Sweet Solution
Track your food intake by logging it all in a notebook or excel sheet. This simple advice doesn’t appear sexy, but it forces you to
- Keep track of the junk that may have crept in your diet inadvertently.
- Think about what you are eating on regular basis.
Whether you like to believe it or not, but to make permanent changes in your health and body composition you need to shift your dietary patterns permanently. You just can’t stay healthy while eating junk most of the time. To keep your body fit and lean in long term, you need to pay attention and refrain from garbage foods forever.
Think about it, if your current dietary practices were enough then your health and body composition shouldn’t have regressed in the first place. You need a change, and that change is simple.
